John took my son and his friend out for a day of fishing for my sons 14th birthday. They LOVED it! They caught about 10 fish despite the wind today. They learned a ton and they can't wait to go fishing again! Highly recommend!!!

Great Experience. My six year old son's first fishing trip and his first fish. He didn't want it to end and asked if we could go fishing again with guide, John Syer, before our trip was even over. John couldn't have been a better guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area (Lake Travis) and fishing, very patient with my boy, very flexible in the face of questionable weather, and all around just a cool guy, which is very important if you're going to spend 8 hrs on a boat with someone. Honestly, we randomly picked John off of Google and lucked out big time. We will use John again, and would strongly recommend him to anyone, especially anyone with kids.

My 12-year-old grandson and I had a great time with John one evening last week. I chose to just ride and watch and be the photographer. John was a wonderful, patient teacher -- showing my novice grandson how to fish with several types of lures. Highlights, of course, were catching the fish -- including 2 bass that would have been keepers if we had chosen to do that. John picked us up in his boat and provided all the equipment as he took us to probably 10 different fishing spots up and down the lake. A fun evening that we will always remember.

John was my guide today on Lake Travis November 4th 2017.  John is very knowledgeable of Lake Travis, He takes his time and shows you where how and what with to catch fish. I'm from Missouri and have never fished this Lake, but after today, I feel confident in catching fish and navigating  this Lake.  Great day John. Thanks for Your service 

We went out with John on Sat. 2/17/18.  He was very knowledgeable about fishing Lake Travis and put us on to the fish in no time.  He was very patient with my 7 year old who had a great time and caught many fish.  His rates are very reasonable and he offered to stay out even longer to catch “the big one”.  I highly recommended John to anyone who wants to fish Lake Travis.
